'RAGE' TO RECEIVE NEW-MEDIA PREMIERE

Helmer Sally Potter's film "Rage" will premiere not in theaters or on DVD but on cell phones and iPods. Pic will be split up into episodes by Web video service Babelgum and released via a free mobile application. One segment of the movie will be released per day, starting Sept. 21, with the full movie viewable by Sept. 27. "Rage" is the highest-profile feature yet to receive a new-media preem: Pic stars Jude Law, Judi Dench, Diane Wiest and Steve Buscemi. The movie bowed at this year's Berlin Film Festival. Following the mobile release of the movie, partners Liberation Entertainment and Adventure Pictures will release the film on DVD in the U.S. and the U.K. on Sept. 22 and Sept. 28, respectively. Pic will receive a theatrical screening in New York on Sept. 21 and see a two-week theatrical run in the U.K. starting Sept. 25.
